I grew up in a town surrounded by rivers in Japan. Each river has its own history to tell. Here is not the exception. Everything I see in the Yukon is filled with rich history. Just gazing at the Yukon River, I can almost picture the scenes from the Gold Rush, which fills me with indescribable emotions. It makes me reflect on why I am here and what this place means to me.
I have always enjoyed immersing myself in different cultures, and my curiosity brought me to Whitehorse, the Yukon. Living close to the natural beauty of the Yukon has brought me closer to the people who, like me, came here drawn by this place, and I feel the sense of community and warmth every day. My experiences living in Japan and Mexico were invaluable, but I am now happy to call the Yukon my new home.
