Fulfill your dreams at the beautifully situated lodge in Yukon’s Summer Wonderland. Situated right on a calm side arm of Tagish Lake and amidst the boreal forest, the Southern Lakes Resort is an excellent getaway in style and comfort. You will spend three nights in luxurious cabins at the Southern Lake Resort. A beautiful setting with private & cozy log cabins which lets you enjoy the beauty of Yukon’s backcountry. Traditional log cabins with a modern touch – you’ll feel right at home in your spacious cabin. Not to mention the view – ah, the view!

How amazing would it be, to hop on a fishing boat right in front of your cabin? Well, it’s actually true - fishermen live right next door and they can’t wait to take you on a tour during an optional day tour from the lodge! Other summer activities such as canoeing are available at your choice.

Arrival Whitehorse

From the airport we drive to your hotel located in the centre of Whitehorse. Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot. Later in the evening we set out to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights. Accommodation: Sternwheeler Hotel

SOUTHERN LAKES RESORT

We will meet you at the hotel and provide a transfer to the beautiful Southern Lake Resort on the shores of Tagish Lake. On the way to your lodge-based adventure, the guide will point out some of the main attractions. At the resort you can make yourself comfortable and enjoy the stunning scenery during dinner at the lodge. In the evening you can try your first luck at catching the sight of one of the North’s most sought after natural phenomenon, the Aurora Borealis. Overnight at Southern Lakes Resort.

SOUTHERN LAKES RESORT

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, prepared fresh every day by our Chef. You’ll have time to get familiar with the resort before you have a chance to try one of the day tours available from the lodge. If your sense for adventure teases you can take a canoe along the vast landscape surrounding Tagish Lake. After this breathtaking experience you can relax over a hot drink and snacks at the lodge. In the evening you will enjoy dinner at the lodge. Overnight at Southern Lakes Resort.

SOUTHERN LAKES RESORT

After another hearty breakfast you can enjoy the beautiful scenery from your cabin or on a walk along the lake. In the evening you can yet again enjoy the open view to see the Aurora Borealis from your cozy cabin. Overnight at Southern Lakes Resort.

Departure

Relax this morning over breakfast before saying goodbye to the Lodge. Late morning we will bring you back to Whitehorse.

  • I flew to Whitehorse only for 1 night in the hope to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). It was a risk as they don't come out every night, but it paid off. At approx 3am the lights came out and it was spectacular.
